Esperanza Threads Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is "organic apparel"?

A: Cotton is the second most heavily sprayed crop in the world (after coffee). Five of the top nine pesticides used on cotton in the U.S. (cyanide, dicofeol, naled, propargite, and trifluralin) are known cancer-causing chemicals. All nine are classified by the E.P.A. as Category I and Category II - the most dangerous chemicals. In addition, chemical dyes frequently include the toxic heavy metals chrome, lead, copper, zinc and nickel, and sometimes contain known suspected carcinogens. Our clothing is made from 100% cotton that is free from harmful herbicides and pesticides, and has not been bleached.

Q: Who can benefit from organic clothing?

A: If you or someone you know has skin allergies or is currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatments, organic clothing may be suited for you. Or, if you are worried about adding "just one more chemical" into or on your body, then look into organic clothing.

Q: Who likes our clothing?

A: Just about everyone goes for our carefree, comfortable styles.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: We take Visa, Master Card and checks. We do NOT take American Express or Discover, or ship COD.
